Not a database lookup — a measurement of your actual file. Beat-tracked tempo, key with its Camelot code for harmonic mixing, and the hook windows every teaser needs, from one upload.
Your file is analyzed and deleted — we keep numbers, not audio.
Results show tempo, key, Camelot code, your three hook windows and five character words — everything a metadata sheet or DJ pool asks for.
Tempo comes from beat tracking across the whole file; key uses Krumhansl profile matching on the pitch content. Both are measured, not guessed — but real music is messy: half/double-time feels and ambiguous modes exist, which is why the result shows you the numbers instead of pretending certainty.
A DJ-friendly way to write musical keys: 12 positions on a wheel, each in an A (minor) and B (major) flavor. Keys next to each other on the wheel mix harmonically — 8A into 9A works, 8A into 3B usually fights. Your result includes the code, and the full wheel is explained at /camelot-wheel.
DJs filter pools and playlists by them, remixers ask for them, distributors and sync libraries want them in metadata, and sped-up/slowed edits need the true tempo as the starting point. Wrong metadata costs plays; measured metadata is free.
Yes — the same run finds your track's hook (the three best 15-second windows with playback) and five measured character words for the sound. One upload, all of it.
Analyzed and deleted. Eight free runs a day, files up to 30 MB in WAV, MP3, FLAC, AIFF, M4A or OGG.
